Whether we're shooting a wedding or a concert or a boudoir or glamour session, there is always a story behind whatever is going on. Even more importantly, there is the essence of it which is being revealed in and as a series of moments. As a photographer, the challenge is not just to sense that essential unfolding and see it in those moments through the lens, but to capture as complete an image of it as is possible.

As a Kelowna photographer, I'm never more than a few minutes away from a beautiful natural setting in which to place those moments. It's why I prefer shooting outdoor weddings over indoor ones, and prefer on location glamour shoots to in-studio sessions. There are always exceptions, but this is most often how my mind envisions things.
