So what do you do at Big White if you don't ski or do the snowboard thing? A question I had to answer on recent trips to the resort with my girlfriend.

Any previous trips I had taken up the hill had been as a software guy so I would go up, deal with the task at hand, and then head back down again. I literally had never actually stopped and looked around. Now with lots of time on my hands and my camera in my hands, I was ready to see.

As luck would have it, on our first visit together while she went skiing I strolled around the areas close to Happy Valley and happened to be there at a time when some people were going to be scaling the ice tower and finding a way to capture that proved to be quite fun. Subsequent trips would have me going on horse drawn sleigh rides, watching people ride tubes down those runs, seeing dog sled teams fly by with their passengers behind them, people of all ages taking ski lessons on the bunny hills.

I gained a whole new appreciation not just for the resort as an organization, but also for the setting itself. Big White is majestic. It can look so different from one day to the next based entirely on what the weather has been up to. Stunningly gorgeous location full of a diverse cross mix of people from all over the world there to enjoy everything that the hill has to offer.ultrices pretium.
